Meet Sam Sapp

Sam spent over a decade in IT before starting Lockbaud. He worked at IBM, Netsolus, and Pendello Solutions, where he saw firsthand how large IT operations serve their clients. Some of it was great. A lot of it wasn't.

The pattern was always the same: big companies sign you up, then hand you off to a rotating cast of technicians who don't know your name, your network, or your business. Support tickets go into a queue. Responses take days. And the people making decisions about your technology have never set foot in your office.

Sam started Lockbaud because he believed small businesses in Kansas City deserved better than that. Not a bigger IT company. A better one. One where the owner picks up the phone. One where the team knows your name and your setup. One where "same-day support" isn't a marketing claim, it's how things actually work.

Today, Lockbaud serves law firms, accounting practices, logistics companies, and other small businesses across Kansas City. The team is growing, but the approach hasn't changed: real accountability, real responsiveness, and honest conversations about what your business actually needs.

Sam also hosts Ground Zero Growth, a podcast where he interviews business owners and professionals about the moments that shaped their careers. And he's the author of Standing on Shoulders: From Fleas and Failure to Building a Culture of Service in Tech. It's the same philosophy that drives Lockbaud: growth comes from being honest about where you've been and intentional about where you're going.
